Troy Hawks, Marketing Director for Sunlight Mountain Resort, approached Chris Tribble of the True Media Foundation in the fall of 2016. Troy wanted to create a film festival that would get people “stoked” for the upcoming ski season and to celebrate Sunlight’s 50th Anniversary. With True Media Foundation’s speciality in producing media with social impact, they were the perfect partners to help bring these events to life.

In its inaugural year, the Winter Stoke Film Festival featured sold-out events at the Glenwood Spring’s Vaudeville Revue on December 1st and Carbondale’s Crystal Theater on December 8th, 2016. Seven locally produced films were featured followed by Warren Miller Entertainment’s “Here, There, Everywhere”at the Vaudeville Revue and Level 1’s “Pleasure” at the Crystal Theater.

With over 200 attendees in the first year, event organizers decided to make this an annual event and are excitedly working to feature work from more producers in the Roaring Fork Valley. Share your Winter Stoke!
