![]() |
This one-week camp is designed to provide students (ages13-20) at all levels of familiarity with new-media and skills necessary to communicate effectively. It is an excellent introduction for students who are contemplating a longer-term education in filmmaking or a career in the industry. This camp gives students an understanding of the requirements and rigors of filmmaking, as well as the satisfaction of seeing a completed project.
Students should be aware that this is an introductory course that will serve the needs of a community project or a non-profit. Students will write, produce, direct, shoot, and digitally edit their projects and will rotate among crew positions.
The program begins with two days of intensive study in camera techniques; writing and directing on Day Three students begin shooting their collaborative project. Days Four, Five and Six will include post-production editing, graphics design, and final screening.
Students are introduced to the art of storytelling as it translates to their target audience. They will learn the essence of communicating an educational message with entertainment value.
